About
My name is Barb Gordon. I am the owner, teacher, and dog trainer at West Plains Canine School in Spokane Washington. Over the last twenty years I have helped people understand how to raise the good dog, that is a joy to live with. I have also shown people how to clean up their dog’s problem behaviors and turn the family monster into the devoted companion. I have trained my own dogs over the past twenty years for canine sports like obedience and agility. I have also trained other people’s dogs for basic good behavior and competition sports. Good competition dogs start with good rearing. I have worked with and helped people with a hundred different pure bred dogs, big and small, mixed breeds, and rescued dogs. I worked a wide range of problems from housebreaking to aggression. I’ve helped those that want to pursue dog sports reach a high level of teamwork and cooperation. Many of my students and friends have encouraged me to write down my knowledge so it can be shared with others. I have finally written my first book on the simple steps to a well behaved family dog as well as a good start to a dog that can excel at competition obedience and beyond. From the dog to can walk down the street to one you can compete with, starts with taking the lead.
